New Year’s Day Chili 

I made this to start off the new year on a warm, spicy note.

1 lb of ground beef, ground and drained

Place in crock pot and add:

3 Tbs garlic powder, 1 small can of tomato paste , 1 large can of tomato sauce, and 2 Tbs honey. Stir.

Add 3 cans of black beans, 3 tbs chili powder and stir. Cover and cook on high for 2.5 hrs.

Stir again after 2.5 hours and add 1/4 cup of Cabernet or merlot, and 1 tbs savory.

Serve over honey cornbread (jiffy cornbread mix with 1 tbsp honey added) or frito corn chips and top with shredded cheddarcheese and sour cream, and Louisiana hot sauce as desired, and enjoy.
