This week I am thankful for:
I could listen to my niece laugh all day and all night every day for the rest of my life. Last night, we took her to the carousel and between her acting like her Chick – Fil – A ice cream was actually made of magic and her excitement about the carousel animals, the night was one of the best I’ve had in a long time – sharing laughs with my niece and my sister.
2. Free budget software
I’m using BudgetSimple, a free website that will help me this year get back on track with my goals.
3. My roommate
My roommate works way too hard, taking care of people who feel forgotten, cast aside and are at their wit’s end of hopelessness. She is wonderfully kind, a good listener, and one of the most supportive people I’ve ever met in my life.
4. Melatonin and magnesium supplements
No joke. For whatever reason, I cycle through being able to sleep fine for several months, and then bouts of insomnia for several months. Melatonin and magnesium are big helps for promoting relaxation and restful sleep.
5. Craft supplies and roomie craft night
Every other Tuesday is roomie craft night. We spend time coloring, painting, writing, crafting together. It’s recharging and re-energizing and a great way for us to spend time together.
6. Starting a new Bible study with my friend Sarah
Sarah and I will be doing a Bible study together starting next Tuesday and will meet every other Tuesday to spend study and fellowship time together
This week, I met with my mentoring student to talk about her upcoming sermon. I’ve been told I have a gift – I don’t know about that, but I do know that I really enjoy this new role I’ve essentially stumbled upon in my job – of mentoring young or new ministers as they search out their calling and continue on their ministry journey.
What are you thankful for this week?
